The First National Bank in Carlyle was founded in 1878 by the Schlafly Bros. The Schlafly brothers built the bank building located at 891 Fairfax, Carlyle and this location still serves as the Bank’s main headquarters today.
As the bank and its employees grew, a drive-up branch was built in 1969 at 12th and Jefferson Street, Carlyle. In July 1997, this facility was vacated and the new Carlyle Branch opened at 1350 Twelfth Street, Carlyle.
In January 2007, the Bank expanded outside the city limits of Carlyle and opened our Aviston Branch, located at 500 West Harrison. In June 2016, the Bank acquired two branch locations from Centrue Bank, one at 101 South Page, Aviston and the other at 18001 St. Rose Rd, St. Rose. First National Bank in Carlyle now has five locations.
